About Rachel

Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked for several years as a Samaritans volunteer, listening and talking to people in crisis and distress.

This invaluable opportunity motivated me to train at The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London Bridge, where, after three years I gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling.

I am passionate about working with young people and I have gained experience as a Youth Mentoring Volunteer at local Secondary Schools, Counsellor to young people aged 11 to 25 at the Croydon Drop In Centre and recently a youth counsellor for various Teens and Toddlers programmes - 18 week projects for young people at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training - or having children at an early age)

The young people I worked with faced many diverse and challenging problems and it was a privilege to have been given the opportunity to be able to support them through their very difficult life experiences.

To further my education, I am currently undertaking training at
The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), enabling young people to speak about feelings using the Arts.

In addition:

  • I regularly engage in other training courses and developmental activities as part of my Continuing Professional and Personal Development (CPPD).
